Calling For Committee Members: Community Committee to Study Growth Surrounding Anthem

June 4, 2024, Anthem, AZ – The Anthem Community Council (ACC) is delighted to announce the establishment of Anthem Growth Committee. The committee is charged with providing a set of recommendations to the Council related to the impacts of growth and development in the Anthem area. The committee will work to ensure that as the region grows, Anthem maintains its unique community character, quality of life for residents, and position as a premier development.

Specifically, this ad-hoc committee will analyze ACC policies and positions regarding neighboring developments and engage developers early in the process and develop a formal ACC process for evaluating possible annexations.

We invite passionate and dedicated individuals from all parts of the community to serve as committee members and actively contribute to shaping the future of our community. In particular, those with relevant expertise, such as urban planning, environmental science, transportation, real estate, or other related fields are strongly encouraged to participate.

The nine-person committee includes six Anthem residents and three ACC council members.  Two high school or college-aged students are encouraged to participate as non-voting members.  Various ACC staffers will serve as ex-officio members.

To be considered for a committee member position, interested individuals are encouraged to submit their statement of interest online by June 30. Applicants are requested to include a brief statement outlining their interest in serving on the committee and their relevant experience or skills.

At the end of their work, the committee, chaired by a board member, will present to the ACC Board their findings and recommendations and provide a written report. The first meeting will be later this summer and work will conclude by the end of 2024.

We extend our gratitude in advance to all those who express their interest in joining this vital committee. Your commitment and dedication to the betterment of Anthem are deeply appreciated.
