Park Patrol – Part Time

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Working as an extension of the Community Center’s programs and park operations, our Park Patrol staff patrols the Anthem Community Council’s parks and sports areas. This part-time, variable-hour position is a source of information and helps those that use ACC parks. We are looking for one or two individuals who can work weekends as well as closing shifts during the week. Closing shifts are either 2:00 p.m. to close or 4:00 p.m. to close. Additional shifts may be available.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Greets, acknowledges, and interacts with residents and public in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Engages residents and public in friendly, proactive manner as a source of information, providing information on scheduled events and activities in the park; helping residents in the park abide by and understand park rules, and assisting with any emergency situations that may arise; requesting assistance from the Manager on Duty, or MCSO Deputies as directed.
  • Monitors and interacts with park users of all ages as needed to maintain a safe and healthy environment with respect to the park, playgrounds, the skate park, sports equipment, and surroundings.
  • Documents and reports on all equipment and maintenance concerns in the park, including but not limited to lighting, play equipment, restrooms, Ramada cleanliness and any other safety concerns.
  • Articulates extensive knowledge of ACC activities, programs and services, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensures that established policies and procedures are enforced.
  • Keeps accurate Incident Reports and reports them immediately to the Manager on Duty.
  • Attends all staff meetings as scheduled, follows established schedule, safety policies and procedures, and adheres to the ACC company values (Anthem Way).
  • Maintain accurate timecard activity and follow/adhere to all ACC rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: A minimum of High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: One (1) year experience in customer service environment or related field required.
  • Aptitude for detail, highly effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills are a must, excellent communication skills are also required for this position.
  • CPR & First Aid certifications and OHSA training are helpful, but not required.
  • A clean driving record is required to be hired and must maintain a clean driving record while employed.
  • Hours & Schedule can vary within our 7-day work week, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and some holidays.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be physically and intellectually capable of operating a personal computer, printer, facsimile machine, phone, and various other routine business equipment items.
  • Ability to see well enough to read faint or partially obscured writing or printing.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English so that various types of communication may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities both in person and over the phone.
  • Perform physical activities (possibly for extended periods of time) that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, with a full range of motions including walking, sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting, bending, lifting, and carrying.
  • Position requires the ability to exert minimal force of up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 60 pounds of force to move objects.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes, and delays.
  • Must remain alert to working conditions and aware of safety, health, and environmental concerns.
  • Must be able to work effectively with a positive attitude and demeanor in an environment which may be stressful due to adversarial situations resulting from the proper performance of duties.
  • Position will alternate between working indoors in a controlled climate to an outdoors setting with variable climate.
