duties and responsibilities

The Accounts Receivable / Finance Clerk must be a detail-oriented accounting and business professional who will provide hands-on day-to-day interactions and processing of Anthem Community Council’s accounting and financial activities. The individual must have the ability to prioritize and deliver accurate, appropriate, compliant, and timely work products.  There will be specifically assigned finance jobs and will also serve as a backup to many finance processes.

  • Support for all Accounts Receivable activities including deposits, recurring journal entries, daily reconciliation of deposits to our Civic Rec software, etc.
  • Process month-end invoicing including commercial leases, cell tower rentals, etc.
  • Support and process resales and disclosures including scanning documents
  • Handle ongoing filing needs in the finance department
  • Support Anthem Way Foundation including communication with other departments regarding pavers, payments, etc.
  • Support for HOA assessment billing (quarterly, semi-annual, and monthly)
  • Perform all duties in compliance with GAAP and company policies
  • Act as backup for a variety of accounting processes which may include: cash and account reconciliations; accounts payable; collections; homeowner transitions and title checks; etc.
  • Must be accurate, responsible, and dependable
  • Other duties as assigned; needs within the department may change and the scope of work assignments may change, even significantly

qualification requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university preferred, with a major in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; or a minimum of three (3) years of progressive general accounting experience that includes an aptitude to quickly learn the above essential duties
  • Basic General Ledger Accounting required
  • Basic to Intermediate Excel skills including basic formulas, data-sorting, and spreadsheet management
  • Strong computer software skills in Word and Outlook
  • Solid background in accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • High aptitude for quickly adapting to new systems
  • Has basic experience with Quickbooks
  • The ideal candidate has worked with a home owner’s association and has experience with Caliber
