Art in Public Places thrives at Civic Building

The public art winter rotation at the Civic Building through Jan. 18 features “Celebrating Arizona.” Pieces on display and for sale highlight Arizona’s landscape, skies and wildlife.

Future art rotations
For the next rotation, youth artists (grades 5-12) may submit art for consideration through Jan. 8; Jury Day is Jan. 11 and installation of artwork takes place Jan. 18. All artwork must be family-friendly and ready to show (matted, framed, etc.). Adult artists are also invited to submit non-themed art for the larger show.

On Feb. 10, 9:30-11:30 a.m., residents and guests are invited to the Civic Building to view (and purchase) artwork and enjoy live music and refreshments during Java & Jammin’.

Following the youth exhibit, the next art rotation will feature “Travel and Leisure.” Call for art will begin April 3 and closes May 4; Jury Day will be May 10 and installation will be May 17.
