New residents, public art and live music combine

Eighty-five pieces of artwork representing 23 artists are featured in the current “Art in Public Places” exhibit at the Civic Building. The artwork is available to view and purchase through Sept. 14. At that time, a new show will open featuring a special “Celebrate Arizona” exhibit, a unique look at our state through landscapes, wildlife, points of interest, landmarks, etc.

On Oct. 14, 9:30-11:30 a.m., residents and guests are invited to the Civic Building to view (and purchase) the artwork and enjoy Java & Jammin’, featuring live music and refreshments. New residents also will be welcomed to the community at this time.

Future art rotation

The winter rotation will feature “Youth Art,” an exhibit within the larger show. Art may be by youth artists, or about youth in general. Call for artists opens Dec. 4 and closes Jan. 8; art will be juried Jan. 11 and installed Jan. 18. A walk-through event will be held Feb. 10 during Java & Jammin’.
