A Memorial Day Ceremony, “A Day of Remembrance,” will be held at the Anthem Veterans Memorial on Monday, May 29 at 9 a.m. Please note that this time is a change from previous years, due to a trend of high temperatures. Lt. Col. David Clukey, U.S. Army, will deliver the keynote address; Lt. Col. John Simmons, U.S. Air Force (Retired) will serve as the Master of Ceremonies, and his Jr. Air Force ROTC cadets from Sandra Day O’Connor High School will stand guard at the Memorial during the ceremony.
A bell will be rung to remember each veteran killed or missing in action who is memorialized in the Circle of Honor.
Pavers in the Circle of Honor are a wonderful way to honor veterans permanently at the Memorial. Pavers purchased prior to March 10 will be installed in time for the Memorial Day Ceremony.
