Finance/Accounting, Human Resources, Business Services, office management and the offices of the Community Executive Officer and Community Operations/Finance Officer fall under Administration. The mission is to create an organizational culture that promotes integrity, teamwork and customer service.
Provides space for Board and community meetings; the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office substation; a business center; arts & crafts and other programs; welcome center; community administration and HOA services; fitness studio; leased use by local non-profits; and meeting/event rental space for residents, organizations and businesses. The mission is to provide welcoming and useful space to the community.
Communications and Public Affairs
Staff members direct, manage and implement the ACC’s media relations, internal/external communications, website/social media and event publicity; also, the design and production of the Resource Guide, Activity Guide and Budget-in-Brief. The mission is to provide effective and efficient avenues of communication, and further increase and strengthen the awareness of the Council and its programs and services.
Community Center Administration
Administration oversees Community Center operations, including facility management, staff and contracts. Facility rentals, vending and retail sales are also included in this area. The mission is to provide superior customer service and ensure that residents’ needs are met through programs and consistent day-to-day operation of the Community Center complex.
Community Center Maintenance
Staff keeps the two-story, 43,000-sq.-ft. complex cleaning and operating smoothly. This includes an aquatics park, tennis courts, Rock Wall, multi-purpose rooms, gym, fitness floor, exercise studio, locker rooms and lobby. The mission is to maintain the condition of the facilities, strive for the highest level of safety and cleanliness, and maintain a cost-effective and environmentally sound approach.
Community Center Programs
Programs include children’s classes and camps, youth and adult sports leagues, tennis, group fitness, wellness, dance and gymnastics, teen programs, specialty classes, Rock Wall climbing, and swimming and diving. The mission is to provide and maintain programs and activities for residents that promote learning and healthy living.
Parks and Facilities Maintenance
The beauty and safety of Community Park (and all of its features), Liberty Bell Park & Splash Pad, Opportunity Way Park, the Anthem Civic Building and common areas not maintained by HOAs fall to this department. Additionally, 15 miles of walking and biking trails, 1,500 acres of open space, eight miles of barbed wire fence, 4.4 million sq. ft. of common wall and view fence, over 20,000 trees, 64 acres of turf, 300 acres of landscaped area, and over 10 miles of medians and roadsides are maintained by this department. The mission is to maintain Council-owned assets to the highest quality, conserve resources while maintaining appeal and provide a clean and safe environment.
Anthem Days, Music in May, Independence Day Celebration and Autumnfest are the four main community events; also, ceremonies at the Anthem Veterans Memorial. This department provides overall direction, management, planning and implementation of these events and works with community groups and other organizations. Staff coordinates event logistics, licenses, insurance and permitting, and oversees policies. The mission is to create a place and experiences where traditions and memories are made.
